Get A Complete Smog Check Service At Affordable Price
Drivers
in California have a responsibility for protecting the environment
from
the harmful pollutants.
Smog-Latino
is
committed to helping drivers fulfill this responsibility through its
Star-certified test and
repair
facilities.
Our
star certified station
performs vehicle smog tests that are required every two years. We
are
family-owned and will provide an honest assessment of the situation
with a three-part test consisting of visual inspection, a
functional examination and an emissions evaluation during
a smog check service.
In
the event of a test failure, the vehicle's owner will be provided
with all the information and we can also perform the required repair
at a very minimal price.
The
smog Tests can only be performed by specialized licensed smog
check service
stations. Vehicles
manufactured in 1996 or after will receive an On-Board Diagnostics
emission test. During this test, the mechanic will connect a testing
device to the vehicle’s OBD computer to analyze data during the
emissions system.
If
the battery has been disconnected for any reason, do not immediately
have the emissions test. It is highly recommended that the vehicle be
driven for up to one week for the OBD system to reset properly.
Testing too soon will result in a failed smog check. A vehicle that
emits smoke will fail the emissions inspection and will not qualify
for a waiver. Vehicles emitting visible smoke make be ticketed by law
enforcement.
Vehicles
manufactured prior to 1996 will receive a Two-Speed Idle Smog test.
The technician will test the engine at idle speed and then again at
2,500 RPMs. A Dynamometer will be used on older model diesel engines.
